A person was seriously injured following a large brawl in Porirua on Sunday afternoon, leading to police intervention. Authorities responded to reports of a “disorder incident” involving a group of people fighting at a premises on Kenepuru Drive around 1 p.m.
Wellington Free Ambulance confirmed one patient was transported to Wellington Hospital in serious condition. Police arrested two individuals at the scene and are continuing their investigation.
A police spokesperson says, “An increased police presence will be in the area as police continue to make enquiries into the assault.” Further details on the cause of the fight have not yet been released.
