Motorists travelling north of Wellington today should expect delays as a large funeral procession makes its way from Wainuiomata to Plimmerton.
The procession is expected between midday and 1pm, with mourners en route to Whenua Tapu cemetery. While the exact route remains unconfirmed, it may involve State Highway 2 and State Highway 1 or alternatively State Highway 58 over the Haywards Hill.
Police are monitoring the situation and advising drivers to plan ahead or delay travel where possible.
