
The Porirua Vikings Rugby League Club is celebrating a triumphant end to the season after their Premier team secured a hard-fought 26-24 victory over Petone on Saturday, claiming the Tier 2 Division title.
The tightly contested final was a display of grit, determination, and unity as the Vikings edged ahead in the dying moments of the match. Cheers erupted at full-time, with players, whānau, and supporters flooding the field in celebration.
“This season has not just rebuilt our club, it has redefined it,” the club shared in a heartfelt statement following the win. “Through every challenge, every triumph, and every moment in between, we have proven that together, we are stronger.”
The squad, dressed in maroon and gold, marked the occasion with jubilant scenes as they lifted the championship trophy. Medals were worn with pride, and smiles stretched wide as the team acknowledged the loyal support of their community.
