Dirt bike seized after Belmont Park damage in Porirua

A dirt bike was seized by Porirua Police after being linked to recent damage in Belmont Regional Park, where riders disrupted farm operations and distressed lambing livestock.

A dirt bike involved in damaging farm property and disturbing livestock in Belmont Regional Park has been seized by Porirua Police.

The bike, which fled from officers on Friday, was identified through Police enquiries and impounded on Sunday for six months.

Sergeant Tory Press confirmed the vehicle was one of several used in the park to destroy farm infrastructure and cause distress to lambing stock.

“Porirua Police continue to prioritise the investigation and enforcement for similar offending and appreciate the ongoing support of the community providing information,” Press said.

Police are urging the public to report any dangerous driving as it occurs by calling 111, or to report past incidents through 105. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
