A 50-year-old man remains in critical condition following a serious assault at a home on Randwick Road, Lower Hutt, prompting an urgent appeal from police for public assistance.
Hutt Valley Police were called to the residential address around 8pm on Monday evening, where the man was found with injuries consistent with an assault. Emergency services responded swiftly, and a scene guard was established overnight.
Detective Inspector Haley Ryan confirmed that a full scene examination is underway today as police work to establish what happened and who was involved.
“We are working to piece together what occurred, when it occurred and identifying those who may be involved,” said Ryan.
Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the Randwick Road area over the coming days as investigations continue.
Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area recently or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.
