Porirua rugby fans travelling to Wellington for Saturday’s Super Rugby Pacific Grand Final can use their match ticket for free travel on Metlink buses and trains.
The Hurricanes take on the Chiefs at a sold-out Hnry Stadium, with kickoff at 7.05pm.
Free travel applies on Metlink services before and after the match, although harbour ferries and Total Mobility taxis are excluded.
For Porirua supporters travelling on the Kāpiti Line, additional trains will be available after the game to help fans get home.
The Hurricanes finished the regular season at the top of the competition and will have home advantage in front of a packed crowd.
Metlink is encouraging passengers to travel early and plan ahead as large numbers of fans are expected to use public transport throughout the evening.
