A body was discovered Wednesday afternoon at Castlepoint, prompting a police investigation.
Police said initial inquiries indicate the deceased is a 30-year-old woman from Lower Hutt who was reported missing the day prior. While formal identification is yet to be completed, authorities believe the discovery aligns with the missing person’s report.
“Police extend our condolences to the woman’s family and friends during this difficult time, and continue to offer them support,” a spokesperson said.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident around 2.30pm. The circumstances surrounding the death are currently under investigation.
