A person has died following a house fire in Upper Hutt in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to a Tararua Street property, between Ross Grove and Louis Street, at approximately 2.25am. Upon arrival, firefighters found the house fully engulfed in flames.
Tragically, one person was discovered deceased at the scene.
A scene guard remained overnight, while Police and Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) investigators conducted a full examination of the site earlier today.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities have stated it is not being treated as suspicious.
