Motorists travelling on State Highway 59 between Porirua and Paekākāriki should expect lane closures and detours over several nights this week as crews carry out maintenance and upgrade works.
In Porirua, the southbound off-ramp at Titahi Bay will be closed Tuesday night from 11.59pm to 4am for a streetlight pole replacement. The Mungavin Interchange will also be closed on Sunday and Monday nights from 9pm to 4am, with traffic diverted via the northbound off-ramp and back onto SH59 using the on-ramp.
A westbound lane at the Paekākāriki roundabout near Fishermans Table will close on Sunday and Monday nights from 9pm to 4am for guardrail repairs.
In Pukerua Bay, near Teihana Road West, stop/go traffic controls will be in place Wednesday and Thursday nights between 7pm and 4.30am to allow for streetlight pole installations.
Line marking works will continue across multiple locations. In Plimmerton, near the St Andrews/Grays Road Interchange, southbound lanes will have an altered layout and overnight closures from Monday to Thursday between 7pm and 5am for median pole replacements. Additional stop/go controls will be in place for line marking between Sunday and Thursday nights.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead and expect minor delays.
