The Kapi Mana U14 representative netball team has secured first place in the U14A Grade at the North Island Junior Championships, celebrating a major milestone in their 2025 season.
Porirua Deputy Mayor Kylie Wihapi congratulated the team on their victory, singling out the dedicated coaching staff, Nani, Froggy, Izzy, and Ngahiwi, for their leadership and commitment. “What a team,” Wihapi said, also acknowledging the amazing parent supporters behind the scenes.
The Kapi Mana Netball Centre (KMNC) expressed deep appreciation for the time, dedication, and support of the U14 and U16 team management. “Your hard work has not gone unnoticed,” KMNC stated. They also extended thanks to the umpires who travelled to Taranaki to officiate the games.
KMNC highlighted the essential role of whanau, praising parents and supporters who consistently stepped up, through rides to training, attending hui and fundraisers, and braving all-weather conditions during tournaments. “You are the MVPs of our rep season,” they said.
This championship win celebrates not only the talent and perseverance of the young athletes, but also the collective spirit of Porirua – where coaches, families, and supporters unite to lift the next generation.
