Drivers travelling on State Highway 58 and State Highway 59 through Porirua and surrounding areas should expect night closures, lane changes, and stop/go traffic controls over the coming week due to multiple ongoing safety and infrastructure projects.
In Paremata, between Oak Avenue and SH59, SH58 will have an altered road layout on Monday night from 9pm to 4am while traffic counting rubber tubes are installed.
Further along SH58 in Judgeford, lane changes will continue day and night from Saturday to Friday between Moonshine Road and Flightys Road as part of the ongoing SH58 safety upgrade. Stop/go traffic controls are also scheduled between Flightys Road and Transmission Gully on Wednesday and Thursday night, from 7pm to 5.30am, for line marking and fibre works.
In Whitby, Spinnaker Drive will remain affected with lane layout changes and side road closures throughout the week due to slip repairs and closed turn lanes.
On SH59, Pukerua Bay will see night works north of Pa Road on Monday from 9pm to 4.30am, with stop/go traffic in place for streetlight pole replacement. Between Pa Road and Teihana Road, the highway will also have altered lanes from 9pm to 4am for traffic tube installation.
Southbound motorists on Transmission Gully, just south of Waitangirua, should expect delays on Monday and Tuesday between 9am and 5pm. A lane will be closed during the day for ongoing project works in the area.
Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time while these works are underway.
