Night-time lane closures and off-ramp shutdowns are planned across Porirua and northern Wellington this week as maintenance and project work continues on key state highways.
Drivers travelling on Transmission Gully, State Highway 58 and routes around Johnsonville and Ngauranga Gorge are being advised to allow extra travel time.
Southbound lane closures will be in place north of the Pāuatahanui/SH58 interchange on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9pm to 7am for project works. Further southbound closures are also planned north of the Kenepuru interchange on Friday night during the same hours.
The Johnsonville southbound off-ramp will close on Tuesday and Thursday nights between 8pm and 4.30am while resurfacing work is carried out at the Johnsonville roundabout.
At Ngauranga Gorge, northbound lane closures near Kiwipoint are scheduled for Sunday and Thursday nights from 7pm to 5.30am for paving work.
The Newlands northbound off-ramp will also close on Thursday night between 7pm and 5.30am.
Further south, the Aotea Quay southbound off-ramp will close on Wednesday night from 11.59pm to 4am for urgent barrier repairs.
On State Highway 58, lane closures are planned at Haywards opposite the substation on Sunday night from 7pm to 5am for pavement repairs following recent severe weather.
Stop-go traffic management will also remain in place between Moonshine Road and Flightys Road during overnight works linked to the SH58 upgrade project.
Motorists travelling through the area can also expect an altered lane layout on SH58 near the Pāuatahanui Bridge throughout the week, with stop-and-hold traffic controls operating during peak school times to protect pedestrians affected by bridge and pathway works.
