Mungavin off-ramp and SH58 roadworks planned for Porirua this week

Porirua motorists can expect lane closures and overnight traffic controls on State Highways 59 and 58 this week.

NZTA’s Wellington Transport Alliance says the southbound Mungavin off-ramp on SH59 will have a lane closure on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 September.

The closure will operate between 9am and 7pm on both days while drainage maintenance is carried out.

Drivers using SH58 between Porirua and the Hutt Valley will also encounter ongoing work around Judgeford.

Stop/go traffic controls will operate between Moonshine Road and Flightys Road from 7pm to 5.30am from Sunday through Thursday nights as part of the SH58 Safety Improvements project.

An altered lane layout will also remain in place through the area day and night during the week while the project continues.

The work is part of NZTA’s scheduled Wellington region state highway programme for 19 to 25 September.

NZTA says roadworks are weather dependent and may be postponed at short notice. Motorists are advised to allow extra time and check the NZTA Journey Planner before travelling.
