Tokomanawa Queens are back at Te Rauparaha Arena tonight, hosting Mainland Pouākai as they chase their first win of the 2026 Tauihi season.
The Tauihi game is scheduled for 6pm, following a 5pm Rapid League curtain-raiser. Doors opened at 4.30pm for the Porirua game night.
The Queens opened their season at the same venue last Sunday with a 75-69 loss to Northern Kāhu.
Tokomanawa started strongly and led 22-13 after the first quarter, but Kāhu took control during the second half.
Taylor Mikesell led the Queens with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Krystal Leger-Walker finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.
Mainland Pouākai come to Porirua after opening their season with an 87-80 win over Southern Hoiho.
McKenna Dale and Mikayla Vaughn scored 30 points each in that victory and combined for 23 rebounds, providing an early indication of the threat the Queens will face inside.
Tonight’s match is the Queens’ second of six regular-season home games at Te Rauparaha Arena.
Their next Porirua home game is against Whai on Friday 16 October at 7.30pm.
