Aotea College Under 15 Girls celebrate their 2025 CSW Rugby Sevens championship win after edging Wellington Girls’ College 24–22 in a thrilling final.

Aotea College’s Under 15 Girls Sevens team has claimed the 2025 College Sport Wellington (CSW) Rugby Sevens title, defeating Wellington Girls’ College 24–22 in a thrilling final.

The win caps off a successful campaign for the team, led by coaches Brenda Collins and Patsy Schwalger. The narrow victory came after a fast-paced match that kept spectators on edge, showcasing the talent and determination of both sides.

Barbara Edmonds, MP for Mana, was among the supporters cheering from the sidelines. “Thank goodness I got a protein shake from Sushil’s Musclechef Kitchen & Café, because it was an oval ball sports day at PC Tag and Naenae for the College Sport WRFU sevens,” says Edmonds. She praised the team and acknowledged the hard work of the coaching staff.

“Congratulations to the Aotea College Girls 7s team and coaches Brenda and Patsy who took out the 15s girls division,” she said.

Edmonds also paid tribute to the volunteers and referees who help make youth sport possible, saying, “Sports like tag and sevens can’t happen without committed volunteers and referees. We thank you all.”

The win highlights Aotea College’s continued strength in rugby sevens, especially in developing female talent in the sport.
