Porirua seniors are being invited to take part in a new exercise class focused on balance, strength and confidence.

Age Concern Wellington Region is launching its Steady As You Go class in Porirua later this month, with a free introductory session at the Porirua City Centre.

The launch class will be held on Wednesday, January 28, at 11am at 7 Selby Place. All levels of fitness are welcome, and participants are encouraged to wear suitable footwear and bring a water bottle.

The Steady As You Go programme is designed to support older adults to improve balance and strength, with the aim of reducing the risk of falls. Exercises are delivered in a group setting, with options for seated and standing participation.

Age Concern Wellington Region said the class also offers an opportunity for older people to stay active while connecting with others in the community.
