Ventia honoured for Excellence in Asset Management

Jonathan Kibblewhite and the VENTIA team celebrate their excellence award

Ventia’s Pauahatanui based Transmission Gully team have received the Excellence in Asset Management award at the recent 2025 Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) Awards, held in Auckland.
The IPWEA awards night is the premier annual ceremony that recognises and celebrates the best in public
works engineering in New Zealand.
The Excellence in Asset Management award recognises Ventia’s application of ISO55001 certified
asset management practices in its operations and maintenance role on Te Aranui o Te Rangihaeata –
Transmission Gully Motorway, one of New Zealand’s largest and most significant transport
infrastructure projects.
Ventia’s Technical Services Manager for Transport NZ, Jonathan Kibblewhite says achieving whole-
of-life asset management excellence is vital to New Zealand infrastructure.
“We are incredibly proud that our Transmission Gully maintenance and operations team has received
recognition for their amazing work. This achievement requires great technical capability and
collaboration between Ventia and the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, making the value created a
reality.
“This recognition not only celebrates our current success but also sets a benchmark for future
projects, inspiring continued excellence and innovation in asset management. It underscores our
commitment to delivery excellence in state highway and local roads maintenance,” says Mr Kibblewhite.
Ventia congratulates all winners and finalists celebrated at the IPWEA Awards and acknowledges the
critical work being done across the infrastructure sector to support sustainable, high-performing public
assets.
