Ed Sheeran fans heading to Sky Stadium next Wednesday, January 21, will be able to ride public transport for free, with extra Metlink services laid on for the sell-out concert.

Ed Sheeran brings his Loop Tour to Wellington, and concert tickets double as travel passes on Metlink buses, trains and ferries.

Metlink says additional late-night train services will run on the Kāpiti, Hutt Valley and Johnsonville lines after the show, departing after the last scheduled services.

The Wairarapa Line will operate to its normal Wednesday timetable, with no extra services added.

Bus passengers can expect increased capacity on core routes, while the East by West ferry will operate at standard times.

Concert-goers are reminded ticketing is fully digital. Instead of tagging on, passengers should show their concert ticket on the Ticketek app when boarding.

Fans are encouraged to plan ahead and travel early, using the Metlink app or website, or by calling 0800 801 700 for the latest travel information.

The concert takes place at Sky Stadium, with tens of thousands expected to attend.
