Police are appealing for information after railway signal cables were allegedly tampered with in Tawa.
Police said they were notified between 6am and 7am on Friday 3 July that signal cables had been damaged at the southern end of the Takapu Road platform.
The damage caused multiple signal issues and disrupted rail services.
Police are seeking to identify a person pictured in material released by Police, as they believe the person may have information that could assist their enquiries.
They are also seeking information or footage of a dark-coloured ute seen in the area around the time the incident was reported.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity, or saw the person or vehicle, is asked to contact Police through 105 by phone or online at 105.police.govt.nz.
