Porirua residents are invited to celebrate Matariki through restoration, reflection and community connection at Bothamley Park on Saturday, 18 July.
The free community event will run from 10am to 12.30pm, with participants meeting at the Champion Street entrance. Sunday, 19 July, is the postponement day.
There will be 1800 plants ready to go into the ground, along with tools for people who want to help collect litter around the park.
Participants will also be able to connect with community organisations and learn more about their work.
A free barbecue will be provided for those taking part in the planting and clean-up.
The event is free and open to the community.
