Arts on Track to host Anneke Borren’s annual pottery sale

Arts on Track will host Anneke Borren’s annual pottery sale, featuring a range of her distinctive ceramic works that continue to inspire local collectors and craft enthusiasts.

Arts on Track will host Anneke Borren’s annual pottery sale from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 November at Platform 2, Plimmerton Railway Station. The gallery will be open daily from 9am to 4pm.

This much-anticipated event will feature a range of Borren’s ceramic works, including collectible pieces, functional wares, and signature designs. A concurrent ‘Small Works’ exhibition will also be on display, offering affordable, gift-friendly art pieces ahead of the Christmas season.

Arts on Track is a co-operative art gallery and working studio space based inside the Plimmerton train station. The gallery features over 10 artists working across a wide variety of mediums.

Anneke Borren MNZM is a New Zealand-based ceramicist whose work is held in the permanent collections of Te Papa, the Christchurch Art Gallery, and the Sarjeant Gallery. Born in Eindhoven, Netherlands in 1946, Borren emigrated to New Zealand in 1963. She trained at the School of Fine Arts in Christchurch and later studied in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden.

Borren established her first studio in Paraparaumu in 1969, followed by ‘Chez-Moi Pottery’ in Paremata in 1994. In addition to exhibiting widely, she has served two terms as president of the New Zealand Society of Potters and was artist-in-residence at Whanganui Polytechnic in 1984. That same year, she received the West Award from the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts. She was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2022.

The public is invited to attend the exhibition and sale, with all welcome to view and purchase works.
