Two men and a youth have been charged after Police seized four firearms, ammunition and suspected drugs, including around $10,000 worth of gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), following a firearms incident in Cannons Creek.
Police were called to an address in the Porirua suburb on Friday 9 October after a firearm was discharged. No injuries were reported.
The incident prompted a coordinated Police operation involving frontline officers, investigators, dog handlers and specialist staff.
Senior Sergeant Jen Blackwood said the operation led to the arrests of a patched gang member and gang affiliates across two addresses.
Searches of the properties uncovered four firearms, ammunition, suspected ketamine, GBL and around 48 drug-laced vapes.
Police estimated the value of the suspected GBL at around $10,000.

Blackwood said the arrests and seizures demonstrated the importance of different Police teams working together to tackle organised criminal activity.
“This operation has brought together our resources effectively to remove dangerous weapons and harmful drugs from our community.”
The two men and the youth have been charged with various offences and are due to appear in the Porirua District Court. Police have not specified the individual charges or court dates.

Kāpiti-Mana Police are continuing to work with partner organisations to address organised crime and its effects on local communities.
