There are many magical moments from high school that students always remember. From sporting achievements to Polyfest, making new connections to school productions, your favourite teacher to school trips. However, in this case we started the school year with a bang and what a Whānau Day it was! (see video below)

The leadership team consisted of students and staff and their organisation of practices leading up to the big day as well as the day itself was phenomenal.

The green machine that was Totara, the pink panthers from Manuka, the red sea that was Pohutukawa and finally the bright shining glow from Kowhai, set the scene for what would be a glorious day of competition. From the whole-school Cha cha warm up to capture the flag, and from Mr and Mrs Mana to the teachers cutting shapes on the dance floor, the day was definitely one for the books! A massive success story of people flourishing and having fun doing so.

Thank you to our guest judges from 502, Partners Porirua, Pasifika Thrive and other organisations.

Thank you to our student leaders from each whānau group for all of your mahi both seen and unseen. We look forward to improving our practice for the next Whānau Day competition in Term 2.

All Whānau Day competition points will be collated and at the end of the year the Whānau group with the most points will be crowned the Whānau Champions and awarded the Whānau Shield for 2024.
