Dirt bike rider flees Police in Porirua centre

Police are appealing for information after a dirt bike rider fled officers in Porirua City Centre on Sunday afternoon.

A Police unit spotted a black and red dirt bike being ridden dangerously on Titahi Bay Road about 1.50pm.

Officers signalled for the rider to stop, but the bike fled. Police did not initiate a pursuit because of the manner of driving.

Police are now asking the public to help identify the dirt bike or the rider so they can speak with them. The bike is described as black and red with the number 450 displayed on the back.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the dirt bike around the time of the incident.
